Location
The castle stands about 300 meters above sea level on a hill in Florentine Chianti, in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa.
The Chianti region stretches with its hills covered with olive groves and vineyards in the heart of Tuscany, between the provinces of Florence and Siena. Renowned all over the world for the excellent homonymous wine produced there, the Chianti district is also scattered with small villages and towns, parish churches and castles - the most famous being the castle of Brolio, near Gaiole in Chianti - that are well worth a visit.
Description
The castle is a "Residenza d`Epoca" (that is, a historic manor house). Built in the 10th century on the foundations of a settlement of Roman origin, it was converted into a villa in the second half of the 15th century.
The windows and the garden afford a breathtaking view over the valley below.
The private swimming pool (11x4 m; depth: 3 m) that commands the surrounding countryside lies in the garden, about 20 meters from the building.
In the garden are also a table for having meals in the open air and the barbecue equipment.
The castle is surrounded by 30 hectares of woodland where guests can have wonderful walks. A riding stable, a golf club and a tennis club are within a few kilometers of the estate.
Accommodation
The three-story building composes of entry hall, central hall, kitchen, dining room with fireplace, four living rooms (one with fireplace), game room, laundry room, eight double bedrooms (six with ensuite bathroom), a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom, two single bedrooms and three more bathrooms.
Two loggias overlook the swimming pool and the valley below.

Guided tours, yoga and cooking lessons and wine-tasting events are organized upon request.
A baby sitter, a cook and maid and breakfast services are available upon request.
Restaurants and food shop are in Bargino (2 km). Other shops and services are in San Casciano Val di Pesa (10 km).
A riding stable is 500 meters from the castle.
A tennis club is 4 kilometers from the estate, whereas a golf club is 20 kilometers away.
