Location The beautiful villa stands at an altitude of about 490 meters on the hills west of Florence, in an area of nature interest. The villa is located in the Natural Park of Monte Morello, a broad mainly wooded territory between Florence and Prato that features also some interesting artworks. Within a few kilometers are the ponds of Focognano, a vast humid area that in 1997 became a nature reserve hosting various species of migratory birds. The territory west of Florence is also rich in historic villas, where the most important Florentine families used to spend long vacation periods. Villa La Petraia, Villa La Quiete and the two Medicean villas of Castello and Careggi are the most renowned. Description The ancient lodging built between the early 11th and the second half of the 13 century is surrounded by 80,000 square meters of woodland, orchards, pasture and olive groves. In the fully-fenced park is also one of the most ancient water springs of the Florentine hills. The park is equipped with outdoor furniture and tables for having meals al fresco. The panoramic swimming pool (5x12 m; depth: 1.40 m) that lies a few dozen meters from the building allows a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. The pool side is furnished with sun loungers, deck chairs and parasols. The park features also a whirlpool bathtub sitting six. The villa, which in origin was part of a farm belonging to the Reverend Nuns of San Salvi, has been recently renovated and finely furnished. A tennis clue, a riding stable and a golf club are a few kilometers from the property. Florence with the Duomo, Giotto's bell tower, the basilica of Santa Croce, the church of San Lorenzo, Ponte Vecchio and its other famous monuments are just a dozen kilometers from the villa. Lucca, Siena, Arezzo, Pisa and many other Tuscan cities of art are within easy driving distance. Accommodation The villa is a three-story building consisting of kitchen, dining room with fireplace, living room, large salon, laundry room, five double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, a single bedroom with ensuite half bathroom and another bathroom. An extra single bed and a futon bed can be added in two of the double bedrooms. All of the bedrooms enjoy a panoramic view. Facilities and Services The villa is equipped with whirlpool bathtub, barbecue, table-tennis table, badminton, mountain bikes, working fireplace, board games, darts, oven, microwave oven, hair dryer, safe, high chair for children and private car parking place. A cook, a domestic help, a breakfast and a shuttle service from/to the airport and railway station are available upon request. Guests are served a welcome cocktail. A restaurant and some shops are within 3 kilometers of the villa. A tennis club, a riding stable and a golf club are within 20 kilometers of the estate.
