Location The farmhouse dating back to the 15th century is located in Dicomano, on the hills of Valdisieve, an area east of Florence that owes its name to the river that flows through it before running into the Arno River. The territory of Valdisieve mainly consists of hills covered with vineyards for the production of an excellent Chianti wine. Rufina, one of the many charming villages scattered in the region, hosts a museum dedicated to vine and wine. Another interesting place to visit in Rufina is the villa of Poggio Reale. Valdisieve is also an area rich in small and picturesque Romanesque churches, such as those of San Bartolomeo in Pomino, Santa Margherita in Tosina and San Clemente in Pelago. The abbey of Vallombrosa and the castle of Nipozzano are worth a visit as well. Description The property comprising a barn and its outbuilding stands in panoramic location in a particularly peaceful area in the Florentine countryside. Florence historic center, the Chianti region, the picturesque villages of Mugello, Arezzo and other Tuscan tourist destinations are within short driving distance. The barbecue equipment, a table-tennis table and the private swimming pool (14x7 m; depth: 1.20-1.50 m) exclusively reserved to guests are in the garden that stretches around the two buildings. Between the barn and the outbuilding lies a paved area furnished with a gazebo, a table and some chairs for having meals al fresco. Accommodation The complex comprises a two-story barn composing of a wide living room with dining area and kitchen corner, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower, and an outbuilding consisting of dining area with kitchen corner, a double bedroom with walk-in closet and a bathroom with shower. Facilities and Services The farmhouse is equipped with table-tennis table, barbecue, stereo system, small electric oven, electric cooker, toaster, American-style coffee maker, freezer, high chair for children and private car parking space. A breakfast service and a domestic help are available upon request. Dinners are organized at the property upon request. A food shopping service at arrival is available upon request. On the day of arrival, guests are offered a welcome buffet dinner. Shops and services of any kind and the railway station with trains to Florence historic center are 7 kilometers from the farmhouse.
