Villa Corsini in the fifteenth century was also known by the name 'Il Palageto'. Ownership of the Strozzi, the villa was sold in 1460 to the family Rinieri. The Rinieri restored the country villa modifying it according to the architectural trends of the sixteenth century. In 1571 the villa was sold again and changed several owners, among whom there was also Cosimo de' Medici. Lucrezia di Pierfrancesco Rinucci was the owner of the house when she married Philip Corsini. The Corsini in the seventeenth century completely restructured the villa. The architect was Antonio Maria Ferri. The facade consists of a higher central building and decorated with an antique clock and the family crest. Flanked by two lower buildings with various windows.

The chapel dates back to the seventeenth century and is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian. The garden of the sixteenth century was known as the 'Giardino delle quattro stagioni' (Garden of the four seasons). In the seventeenth century the Corsini create an avenue of cypresses and holm connecting the garden with the sixteenth-century French garden. At the center of the garden terrace there is a fountain called the Fountain of pony.
