The town of Seravezza is in Versilia and it is in the province of Lucca. At the foot of the Apuan Alps, the town has hosted many important artists from Florence, among which Michelangelo who came to Seravezza to buy marble for its works of art.

The village is located between two rivers, the Serra and the Vezza. It is famous for the Villa pertaining to the Medici family. This villa was built in 1560 as summer house for the Medici family. Today we suggest you to visit it because it also hosts the Museum of Work and Popular Traditions of Historical Versilia with many exhibitions of modern and contemporary art.

If you decide to stay in Seravezza in the summer, on the 9th and 10th August you should not miss the ` Festa di San Lorenzo ` (St. Lorenzo Fair) with the traditional bonfire near the rivers of the town.
For lovers of folklore events, the first Sunday of May in the village of Pozzo takes place the `Palio dei Micci` with the race of the donkeys of the eight town districts.
