Orbetello is the main center of Orbetello Lagoon, an important natural reserve in the province of Grosseto. In front of Orbetello there is the promontory of Monte Argentario.

The Duomo of Orbetello in Gothic style is located in Piazza della Repubblica. Inside there are valuable works of the fifteenth century and the baroque period. Also worth a visit is the Church of the Madonna delle Grazie and the Church of San Francesco di Paola, with its Spanish style elements.

If you love nature, Orbetello offers unspoiled landscapes rich with various species of flora and fauna. The Maremma Park, the Oasis of the Lagoon of Orbetello, the Forest Reserve Feniglia, the Tombolo della Giannella and Campo Regio are natural areas to be visited on foot or by bicycle in the territory of Orbetello.

The Town Archeological Museum in Orbetello hosts Etruscan and Roman remains and it is located inside Polveriera Guzman, a building built by Spanish rulers in 1692. Furthermore, very interesting is also the archeological site of Cosa, a Roman town founded in 273 a.C.

Among the folk events, please note the Feast of St. Blaise in the month of May with a rowing boat race called `corsa dei barchini` and the Cruises Festival at the end of July.
