Location
The ancient watch tower that has been transformed into a vacation house is located in Maremma, a few kilometers from Talamone, in the province of Grosseto.
Mentioned in Dante's "Divine Comedy", Talamone stands on a rocky promontory that dominates the coast to Mount Argentario. In 225 BC the ancient town inhabited since Etruscan times was the theater of an important battle between the Roman army and hordes of Celts heading to Rome. In the 16th century Talamone became part of the State of Presidi and in 1798 admiral Horatio Nelson stopped there during his expedition to Egypt. In 1860 also Garibaldi stopped in Talamone during his Expedition of the Thousand. In more recent times, and precisely in 2008, Talamone was the set of some scenes of James Bond 007 film "Quantum of Solace".
Description
In origin the building erected in the 6th century was a watch tower; now it has been transformed into a vacation house furnished in rustic and marine style.
The tower is surrounded by a large 200-hectared park that borders the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the living room on the third floor affords an amazing 360°view of Maremma inland and the islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
In proximity to the tower are many creeks and a pebble beach. The creeks are easily reached on foot, whereas the beach is within driving distance.
About 7-8 kilometers from the tower is a campground with a swimming pool, volleyball, basketball and five-a-side football pitches, tennis courts and archery facilities. Guests can also kitesurf and windsurf at a beach about 9 kilometers from the estate.
Accommodation
The tower is a four-story building composed of dining room with bar corner and kitchenette, living room with a breathtaking panoramic view, two double bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom with shower), a single bedroom and a second bathroom with shower.

The tower is equipped with working fireplace, fridge, freezer, TV set and private car parking.
A maid service with extra linen change is supplied upon request.
A holiday farm 2 kilometers from the estate offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
A campground about 7.5 kilometers from the property has a swimming pool, tennis courts, five-a-side football, volleyball and basketball pitches and archery facilities, as well as washing machines and tumble dryers.
Guests can kitesurf and windsurf at a beach about 9 kilometers from the estate.
A café and a restaurant are in a campground 7.5 kilometers from the tower.
