Capolona is one of the municipalities that belong to Casentino and bordering the Valdarno. Crossed by the Arno River, this medieval village is located at the foot of Pratomagno.

Founded in the eleventh century around the Abbey Campoleone , this town today offers numerous churches, bridges and castles, many of which were destroyed in the Middle Ages and rebuilt later.
We suggest you to visit the Church of San Martino sull`Arno dating back to the 11th century and located in Capolona. In the nearby town of Castelluccio there is the Church of St. Michael the Archangel which houses an interesting wooden group of the Madonna con Bambino.
