Villa Martellini dates back to the eighteenth century and is certainly one of the most special and elegant historic mansions in Camaiore. The villa is very scenic and is located between the mountains and the sea. Located in Versilia, from the villa you can admire a beautiful view of the Apuan Alps. The property is located on an ancient Roman road, Via Aemilia Scauri built from 190 BC. This Roman road connected Pisa, Lucca, the territory of Lunigiana to Gaul. In the Middle Ages a small church was built, the Church of Santa Maria in Campo Romano. In the sixteenth century the most important families of Lucca stayed in the property during the summer months: from Cenami to Mazzarosa to the Garzoni family. The area was primarily an agricultural area with the Garzoni family farm but embellished the farm, transforming it into an elegant villa.
The façade of the building is characterized by stripes of different color. Probably this kind of choice on the part of the owners served to remind the family crest Garzoni note is divided into several strips of ocher and reddish. The villa has a garden enclosed by a wall and a beautiful flight of stairs adorns the garden and the villa. The park covers about 50 acres covered with olive groves. Horse chestnut trees adorn the garden.
