The oldest part of the villa, the central part, dates back to the eighteenth century. Subsequently, two other parts were added to the main body of the villa: the southern part was built in the nineteenth century while the north part was built in 1964. Before the eighteenth century the building was a mill, and it belonged to the family Orsucci. In 1826 the mill and the properties were sold to Maria Teresa Savoia, who decided to renovate it and turn it into the villa. Maria Teresa Savoia was the wife of Charles Louis de Borbone. The works lasted for about ten years, between 1878 and 1888. The architect was Domenico Martini. The facade is in neo-Renaissance style and the bezel is reminiscent of the central works of the famous Tuscan artists Della Robbia. The villa was built on three floors and Domenico Martini also changed the chapel of the villa. The facade of the chapel, however, was built in 1893 thanks to the architect Deschamps to beautify the house on the occasion of the marriage of Maria Luisa Borbone with Ferdinand I of Bulgaria.

The southernmost part is also in Renaissance style in both the façade and in the interior of great value. Many the stuccos and polychrome marble which decorate the interior rooms. The coffered ceilings and damask walls are typical of the nineteenth century, when this wing of the villa was built.

The park was designed in 1800 by Deschamps, a renowned architect and landscape designer. Deschamps decided to establish not only plants and flowers in the area, but also exotic plants and palm trees like redwoods.
