Villa Mancini is located near the village of Petrognano in the province of Arezzo. The villa is huge and rich in history. To get there, walk along a white avenue to find yourself in front of the property. The area was named by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy and mention the path of the Arno River, not far from the villa. Today, Villa Mancini is privately owned, but it was often uninhabited and in the past there have also been incidents of misappropriation of some valuables and furnishings of the villa itself. At the beginning of the eighteenth century Ulisse and Antonio Barbolani began the construction of the villa in the property purchased by the family in the seventeenth century.

The villa has four floors and is characterized by a smaller high central part with two additional floors. In the past on this upper part there was a clock, now lost. On the sides there are two lower parts compared to the central body of the villa. In the rear with respect to the main facade there are areas dedicated to the team and there is also a small side chapel. Since the end of the nineteenth century the oratory was consecrated and mass could be celebrated. In 1788 Barbolani Clarice married a man of the Mancini family and the villa became the property Mancini. The name then became Villa Mancini. At the beginning of the twentieth century took place here the love story between the great Italian poet Gabriele D' Annunzio and Josephine Giorgi Mancini, who was married to Lorenzo Mancini. In the book Solus ad Solam by Gabriele D' Annunzio, the poet describes the love for the noble lady and the end of it.

The park of Villa Mancini is very large and it was built , enlarged and embellished in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A villa full of interesting stories and events that will surely appeal to lovers of poetry and Italian literature, as well as those who love historic homes in the Tuscan countryside .
