Tuscany Vacation Villas

Location

The villa stands at an elevation of about 580 meters on the hills of the Chianti Classico area, near Castellina in Chianti, a small town that in the 14th century became one of the most important centers of the so-called Lega del Chianti.

The town of Etruscan origin has maintained its 15th-16th-century structure, with the imposing fortress and the wonderful donjon.
The tumulus of Montecalvario is an ancient Etruscan tomb dating from the 6th century BC situated near Castellina in Chianti, along the road to Greve. The remains of some other Etruscan tombs are to be admired in the necropolis of Poggino, near Fonterutoli.
The churches of San Martino a Cispiano and San Leonino in Conio are worth a visit.


Description

The villa is part of a large property that comprises also some vineyards and olive groves for the production of wines and extra-virgin olive oil.

The complex composes of a manor house, occasionally inhabited by the owners, and the rented villa, which in origin was an outbuilding.
A large garden stretches around the buildings. The swimming pool (12x6 m; depth: 2 m) is sometimes to be shared with the owners of the villa. The garden is equipped for dining al fresco.

Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Volterra, the whole Chianti and many other places of tourist interest in Tuscany are easily reached by car.


Accommodation

The villa is a two-story building composing of dining room with kitchen corner, large room with table and fireplace, large living room with double sofa bed, two double bedrooms and three bathrooms with shower.

The first floor is accessed only from the outside.


Facilities and Services

The villa is equipped with barbecue, fireplace, video recorder, oven, microwave oven, toaster, tumble dryer and private car parking space.
A domestic help is available upon request.
Dinners with Tuscan dishes and a guided tour of the farm with visit to the cellars and tasting experiences are organized upon request.

Shops and services of any kind are 7 kilometers from the villa.
