Rignano sull`Arno is in the territory of the Upper Valdarno near Florence. This town offers a countryside full of Romanesque churches and medieval fortifications . The church of San Leolino hosts a fresco by Lorenzo di Bicci and a fresco from the fourteenth century. The Church of San Lorenzo in Miransù is also in Romanesque style and the bell tower is probably the oldest part of the church. Of particular interest is the Church of San Piero in Perticaia that has a collection of various works, including a wooden crucifix of the fifteenth century, and the Monastery of Santa Maria a Rosano with beautiful paintings from the twelfth century, recently restored.
