Built along the via Francigena, which the pilgrims coming from northern Europe used to go to Rome, until the 17th century the castle belonged to the Counts Alberti from Certaldo. The castle was built in the 13th century, but today the square brick tower and the ramparts around the villa are the sole original elements. The buildings are surrounded by a wide garden overlooking the countryside and San Gimignano towers. In the garden there are the swimming pool (10x5 m) shaded by a porch, the lemon-house, which has been transformed into a living room, and a gazebo where guests can sip their aperitifs enjoying the breathtaking view. The complex is provided with satellite TV, Jacuzzi in four bathrooms, air conditioning, computer with ADSL Internet connection, dish washer and washing machine.
