Location The country house stands at an altitude of about 342 meters on the hills north of Arezzo, near Rassina, in Casentino. Rassina is the main hamlet of the municipality of Castel Focognano. The small town is situated in an area that was already inhabited in Etruscan times, as demonstrates the temple unearthed in the 1960s in nearby Socana. Three Christian churches were built over the temple in the 5th, 7th and 10th centuries. In front of the Etruscan temple stands a Roman column dating from the 1st century BC. This Etruscan place of worship is strictly connected to the so-called Lago degli Idoli (Lake of Idols): an archaeological site where have been unearthed many Etruscan statues representing animals and human anatomical parts. Description The beautiful country house is an excellent lodging for those who want to relax in the peaceful Arezzo countryside, but also for those who would like to visit Arezzo, the Casentino region with its churches and castles, the National Park of Casentino Forests, the sanctuary of La Verna, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo and Monterchi, which are within short driving distance. In front of the house built in the 1970s stretches a fully fenced garden equipped with masonry barbecue and furnished for having meals in the open air. The private swimming pool (8x4 m; depth: 1.40 m) is set in panoramic position and allows a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Accommodation The country house is a two-story building with terracotta-tiled floors, wooden ceilings and rooms furnished in rustic style consisting of kitchen with dining area and fireplace, living room, laundry room, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a triple bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a half bathroom. The laundry room and the double bedroom with private half bathroom are on the ground floor and are accessed only from outside. Facilities and Services The country house is equipped with masonry barbecue, outdoor shower, fireplace, microwave oven, freezer, oven and private car parking space. A domestic help is available upon request. Shops and services of any kind are within 8 kilometers of the property.
